SmartBoom/SmartRow Troubleshooting

Error Messages

When SmartBoom/SmartRow detects an issue, the Home screen will display an error message

associated with the problem. The table below lists the possible error messages that could display on

the home screen, as well as how to correct them.

Error Messages Problem Solution

NO GPS

SmartBoom/

SmartRow does not

detect a GPS signal

• This is normal on startup. Wait at

least 5 minutes before trying anything

else.

• Make sure that the GPS receiver is

turned on and receiving a signal.

• Make sure that the port setting for

SmartBoom/SmartRow and the GPS

receiver match.

• Make sure that the GPS receiver is

outputting GGA and VTG messages

at 4 Hz or greater. 10 Hz is the

recommended output rate.

• The SmartBoom/SmartRow will

assign the first port it receives GPS

as the main GPS port. If you have

switched GPS input ports you need to

cycle power

NO GPS

NO DIF

Differential GPS has

not been detected

• This is normal on startup. Wait 5

minutes. Check the GPS receiver to

make sure it has the differential

correction function. Contact

manufacturer for additional

information.
